You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.
Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Verve has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

The spacious accommodations at Verve range from studio through 5 bedroom apartments, with single and double occupancy bedroom options and available private bathrooms.
Yes, all apartments at Verve have a furniture package that includes a full XL bed, dresser, desk, chair and nightstand in each bedroom. In 2 through 5 bedroom apartments, the living area comes includes a sofa, chair, coffee table and entertainment stand with TV, as well as a dining room table and chairs. The standard term is August 26, 2022 to August 05, 2023, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.
After a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to secure their financial obligation in one of two ways: by providing a qualifying guarantor (often a parent) or by purchasing a third-party guaranty from our partner, Leap. In limited cases, we may also waive the requirement for a financial guaranty if a resident has sufficient income of their own.
Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Verve offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.
Your living costs at Verve can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Verve. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.
Nearly all the residents at Verve are students at Rutgers University. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, Verve is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired residence.
Verve has a monitored fire-sprinkler system, along with electronic locks plus individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.
Verve will become a no-pets community in Fall 2022, except for renewing residents with previously approved pets. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.
Verve offers limited garage parking, as well as reserved garage spaces, for an additional charge.
Verve is just a block from Rutgers College Avenue Campus. Four bus lines also stop right outside the front door.
